JAKE OGLESBY
Jacob Oglesby ’13 graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Pastoral ministry. This past October, he was on campus and recognized for his contributions to the community and his profession as the recipient of the Outstanding Young Alumni Award. When thinking about Central and his life after graduation Jacob put it this way: “While at Central, I was surrounded by a caring and loving team that helped me build a firm foundation on who I wanted to be. Years later, I knew I had the freedom to call on professors for guidance, advice, and direction. Not only would they answer the call, but their direction would be Biblically based, theologically sound, and applicable in the real world. I cherish the memories that I made during my time at Central and recognize that God used this place as a stepping stone for me to achieve what He had planned for me since day one.” Jacob has been serving the Lord professionally and occupationally. This includes receiving numerous continuing education certifications such as a Child Development Associate degree, counseling certifications, certification for trauma intervention and suicide prevention, and a Master’s degree in Biblical Studies. Jacob is currently finishing his doctoral research at Denver Theological Seminary. Jacob currently serves as pastor of a downtown church in Lawrence, Kansas, where he also works in community education programs, homeless care centers, and supports organizations focused on addiction and abuse rehabilitation. |
