In 2005, Vanguard Piping Systems, Inc. was sold to Viega Inc. Nathan stayed on as CFO of the new integrated operating entity, Viega LLC. He oversaw the team that led all merger and acquisition activity, supported the financial strategic planning methodology, created an entire legal entity, secured funding, and developed a corporate structure for a new Mexican subsidiary. As CFO he oversaw all accounting and information technology functions. During his time at Viega, he was honored with the CFO Award from the Wichita Business Journal.
In 2016, Nathan became the CFO of Alltite, Inc. an industrial tooling sales and rental company serving the Oil and Gas, Power Generation, Wind, Refining, and Aircraft industries.
In 2017, Nathan purchased the operating assets of Plastics Extrusion Machinery, Inc. and completely restructured the organization as Plastics Extrusion Machinery LLC (PEM). Nathan recognized an opportunity to take an already successful company and scale it into an industry leader. Within 30 days of establishing PEM, Nathan began negotiations to acquire additional manufacturing capacity and product lines from PEM’s largest competitor in the U.S., Advance Equipment Company of Tumwater, Washington. By May 2018, negotiations were complete, making PEM the largest U.S.-based manufacturer of downstream equipment for the PVC Pipe and Profile Industries. Also, in 2018, Nathan purchased all the intellectual property of BellTech, a Costa Rican downstream equipment company. In 2020, Nathan will break ground on PEM’s new corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility, doubling PEM’s McPherson footprint and significantly improving productivity and output for years to come.
Nathan is married to his wife of 33 years; Kari and they have two sons. Jonathan, who graduated from Wichita State University with a degree in Accounting is now working as the Buyer for PEM, and Zachary is currently studying Architecture with a focus on Product Design at Kansas State University. As part of his education, Zachary is playing a pivotal role in the design of PEM’s new corporate headquarters.
