First Lady's Club
The first hint of a gathering's influence can be found in the beauty of the room. A beautiful space has the power to channel creativity, engagement, and energy that is often lacking in today's fascination with busyness. At Central, First Lady Deanna Favara (Dea) has taken this to heart and is tirelessly working to usher in this ethos on campus. The campus' rich 135-year history owns stately buildings, 15 acres of land, and is the home to 400 students and staff each year.
This campus has and continues to serve the Central community well; however, there is a constant need for beautification projects to be funded and completed. For instance, the campus includes well over 40 flower beds that need to be maintained – some areas that have not received needed love and care for several years. These spaces of beauty are vital to a good first impression, yet they are often outside of the feasibility of our operating budgets. In addition, a visit to campus is transformed by the presence of gracious hosts. First Lady Dea has already laid the foundation for excellence in this area of need. |
However, Central hosts well over 300 events and activities on campus or in the President's home each year - a number far too great for a lone, albeit mighty, woman. The growing number of guests on our campus in the last decade has verified the need for the First Lady's Club.
The First Lady’s Club is open to any individual willing to come alongside First Lady Dea to assist her in her official duties as hostess to the campus and the presidential residence. This can include everything from being an usher at events to helping prepare food for a social function. While local members can volunteer to assist with events and receptions, all members will have the opportunity to be informed & included in the strategic beautification initiatives spearheaded by the First Lady. If you have ever been encouraged by beauty, love gardening, or enjoy making people feel welcome and seen, join First Lady Dea Favara in the mission to maintain a beautiful and welcoming campus by signing up below! |
