Streaming will enhance our program's ability to reach more people. Alumni and fans of Central will the opportunity to connect with us in real time, making them feel more a part of our community.

The capability to livestream from Greer opens the door for our alumni, parents, friends, campus students as well as our online students to participate in the life of Central. Whether worshiping with us for weekly Chapel, enjoying the performance of a guest artist, seeing a son or daughter perform their senior recital or the choir perform, livestreaming brings us the opportunity to be together.

I am thankful for the hope to update the technology in Greer! Our old technology does not allow us to have a mic attached to each instrument. Having a mic attached would make our already great sounding band, sound even better!

Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past ten years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

This is Central's third year participating in Giving Tuesday. In 2019, the alumni and friends of the college raised several thousand dollars to install a disc golf course and a hammock farm on campus. In 2020, we raised over $10,000 to help refurbish the Mingenback Hall lobby to give students another study space option. In light of COVID-19, these projects have had a larger impact than we were even expecting, creating additional opportunities for students to be together, active, and socially distanced. 2021, hosted impressive updates to classrooms, campus and event signage, and an immense facelift for Greer Auditorium,

In the last year, through donations through Giving Tuesday, additional donors, and College operations funds Greer Auditorium has seen improvements in nearly every aspect of the space. New paint, light fixtures, carpet in the tech booth, installed communication options between the tech booth and the stage, as well as a completely upgraded lighting system on stage - which replaced the original system installed in 1987.

This Giving Tuesday, we are working on completing the comprehensive work done in Greer Auditorium over the last several years by installing a fully functional live streaming set that will enable all events in the space to be streamed at a high quality in real time.

In order to accomplish this, it requires the sound system to be replaced and updated to current standards, numerous pieces of new equipment, and cables run throughout the space, enabling a multi-camera system to be installed.

Makes Chapel & Convocation Services Accessible

The campus in its commitment to seeing Christ and spiritual formation on campus continues to host a weekly chapel service and a weekly convocation lecture. Convocation is focused on engaging with matters of character development and civic engagement such as food insecurity, financial stewardship, and topics like politics, sexuality, and race. The availability to live stream these gatherings and events would allow the same types of opportunities for our online students as well.

Increases Value & Opportunity for space rentals

Central and Greer Auditorium are host to hundreds of events each year. In today's day and age a venue being able to live stream is the expectation, with this edition the campus will be able to increase the number of organizations and events utilizing this space.

We hear every year how alumni wish that they had access to campus chapels, coronations, convocations, and music events. The college has done it's best to accommodate those requests the best we can but this project will allow for nearly full access to campus events for alumni looking to participate!

The Office of Alumni Relations has been working to increase the alumni specific events available regionally and locally. This system would empower them to not only share the existing campus events but host additional alumni specific events at a high quality.

The availability to live stream chapels and convocation gatherings and other campus events would increase the opportunities for our online students to engage with these critical topics as well.

supports Fine aRts Students in their creative desires

Over 50 music events happen every year at Central, for the last several years they have been recorded on an Ipad to allow for students and professors to review them to provide feedback and allow for student reflection. This functional method leaves a lot to be desired. Students are currently not able to share or use them for self-promotion due to the limited quality. This new system would allow them to graduate with high quality recordings of their work and accomplishments which will dramatically improve the quality of their music portfolios.

Creates opportunities for parents to support their students

As our student body continues to become more diverse the areas are students are coming from are increasing. This fall we have students from over 24 states and at least 8 other countries. While this is incredible on the campus culture and student experience this can create tension and sadness when families want to be able to participate but are not able to travel to campus very often if ever before graduation ceremonies. This project enables families to support their students and get a glimpse into what they are learning about, performing, and where they are being challenged spiritually.

The ability to stream live in Greer would be a big step up for our facility. Greer hosts a multitude of functions on campus from special guest speakers to chapel, or even workshops, and the ability to stream would allow those functions to not only connect with those of on campus, but the whole CCCK community and friends.

A bonus of the streaming enhancement would be the educational element. Students will be able to learn on top-of-the-line equipment and be better prepared when working with equipment like this after graduation.

*If any additional funds are given over the amount needed they will go to further additional improvements in the Wesley Black Fine Arts Center- the building that Greer Auditorium resides in.
